Key Account Manager, SPS Resins - US Based
Polymer Laboratories, now a part of Varian, Inc., has an immediate need for a Key Account Manager, SPS Resins in the US.
The candidate will be responsible for providing sales management of the solid phase consumable product Key Accounts in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries, sales and technical support to customer and field sales personnel, and including on-site customer visits, assisting customers with inquiries, advice and recommendations and providing the organisation with customer feedback. Excellent customer service skills are a prerequisite. The candidate will be home-based, and will be expected to travel. Day-to-day communication with central, east and west coast US, as well as the UK is expected.
Responsibilities include:
· Sales management of the solid phase consumable product Key Accounts in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries
· Providing customer and field sales personnel support through telephone response
· Visit customer sites to give technical presentations of products and applications
· Develop literature and training documents and guides to support the sales team
· Attend trade shows, conferences, training courses and meetings within US
· Liaise with marketing, business development and global sales team to provide product support information
· Develop, implement and manage programs to support the marketing plan(s) and achieve sales goals
· Any other duties as required by the Company from time to time
Requirements
Experience Required:
· Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) or higher, in Chemistry or Chemistry-related subject
· Minimum 2 years in a laboratory environment, preferably in a Drug Discovery or High Throughput Chemistry role
· Effective communication skills (verbal and written English)
· Computer literate, able to prepare Microsoft Office documents (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
· Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team
· Technically well experienced in pharmaceutical industry R&D or drug discovery including synthesis technology, automation and productivity tools
· Location: within easy access of any major hub airport

MR Field Support Engineer
A vacancy has arisen for a Field Support Engineer to cover the Varian NMR Product range.
Reporting to the European Service Manager North, and based in Yarnton UK, this is a customer facing role with considerable responsibility. Primary territory cover will be UK based, with travel into Europe as required.
Main Duties:
· Installation of new VNMRS, VMRI and MR-400 product range.
· Service and planned maintenance visits
· Installation and support of accessories, including new Cold Probe technologies.
· Provide telephone support to customers
Special Requirements / Skills:
· Minimum of 2 years Field experience essential
· Qualified to HNC or equivalent
· Worked with Digital, Analogue and RF electronics
· NMR experience an advantage
· Computer skills, to include UNIX, LINUX, and WindowsOS
· English fluent, other languages strongly desirable
