The PL-ELS 1000 is well established, renowed for its rugged design and able to deliver high performance for demanding HPLC or GPC applications. The nebulizer and evaporator can be operated at very high temperatures to efficiently handle high boiling point solvents commonly used in GPC that other ELSDs simply cannot manage.
The PL-ELS 1000 has been designed to operate at high temperatures, in order to handle high boiling point solvents such as dimethylformamide (DMF). It is the only ELSD that can operate to 300°C, making it ideal for high temperature GPC (HTGPC).
| Competitor A | Competitor S | PL-ELS 1000 | |
| Nebulizer Temp | 25-120°C | N/A | 30-220ºC |
| Evaporator Temp | 25-120°C | 25-80°C | 30-300ºC |
A custom designed heated transfer line, controlled from the PL-ELS 1000 software, permits easy coupling to any GPC system, especially valuable for use in high temperature GPC applications. The solvent condensation device allows the recovery of material from the nebulizer drain and the solvent vapor from the exhaust for increased safety, particularly important when using hazardous solvents.

The PL-ELS 1000 features a gas save mode that sets the gas flow to a nominal low setting (0.1 SLM) to conserve gas and recycle solvent when chromatography is non-essential.
The PL-ELS 1000 solvent condensation device allows recovery of eluent from the nebulizer, solvent vapor tube and exhaust. This environmental safety feature is particularly useful when harzardous solvents are present.
The PL-ELS 1000 advanced control software provides temperature and gas flow control, on-line signal baseline monitoring and unrestricted methods storage.

The PL-ELS 1000 is also supplied with a unique infra-red remote control handset, designed for added convenience and flexibility.
For administrative reasons, part numbers are now prefixed with PL, however, there is no change to technical specification. Please update your records and use this revised part number format when ordering in future.
